-after 1991 the Soviet Union fragmented into a range of different states in Europe NFL Asia , including the Ukraine ,the Baltic states and Kazakhstan

  • many soviet states seceded(broke away) from the Soviet Union and became independent states-included Ukraine , Estonia , Latvia , Lithuania , Asian republics such as Kazakhstan

-the Cold War came to an end as the Soviet Union no longer existed and there was no ideological conflict between East and West
The meeting of bush + Gorbachev in 1989 war - paved they way for the collapse of the Warsaw Pact , which was formally dissolved in July 1991
