NORAD

Berlin blockade
Russia wanted to apply pressure on the Americans and Europeans that owned half of Berlin, they created a blockade.
American British and French planes flew supplies to western Berlin do that they would survive eventually the blockade was dropped

Suez Crisis
- when Egypt said that they were going to make the Suez Canal nationalized
- Britain and France wanted the water access to oil
- sent in forces from Israel
- Peace keeping missions were formed
Vietnam war
- America backed up the French stationed there
- south Vietnam would not become another communist nation
- Russia fought with north Vietnam to join the geo under communism
- eventually north Vietnam won communism

- came up with the idea of peace keeping missions

- laid the foundation for the charter of rights and freedom
- allowed US to fly over Canada with bombs
Herbert Norman
He was named a communist, he wasn’t actually
