Define cognitive restructuring.
Learning to identify irrational or maladaptive thoughts and challenging their veracity using techniques, such as logical disputation to change the patterns.
What is covert desensitization?
Pairing relaxation techniques with imagined anxiety-provoking images to reduce anxiety.
Define covert sensitization.
Linking an undesirable behavior with imagined punishment
AKA: discourage unwanted behaviors through mental associations.
What is covert extinction?
Imagining an unwanted habit being decreased and a reward for imagined success -Often used in treating paraphilias.
Define covert reinforcement.
Things one says or does to oneself to make oneself feel good or bad

A form of CBT used to improve sleep by addressing nightmares
