What is Stage 1; mental reinstatement?

A

When the witness describes their thoughts, feelings and experiences during the event
This causes external/internal cues to trigger memory

A

When events are recalled from someone elses perspective to reduce the negative effect of their OWN schemas

  • When witness is asked to recall events in a different order
  • We remember the first and last thing to occur but the middle is easily forgotten
