Q
principles of cognitive area
A
- Our behaviour is driven by internal mental
processes (such as attention, memory, perception
and language) so we need to study these processes
to understand behaviour - The mind processes information like a computer
with input from the senses, storage and processing
of information and then retrieval

- for the police when questioning witnesses. Police should avoid using leading questions so they don’t
influence the witness’ memory of the crime
(asking them to freely recall what happened). - police officers getting witnesses to mentally
reinstate the environment for the crime; - revision sessions for students in the exam
hall/telling them to revise in silence; - having emergency warnings/alarms that say
