Confirmation Bias
Tendency to seek out and only use confirming evidence.
Motivated reasoning
Reasoning for the purpose of supporting a predetermined conclusion, not to uncover the truth.
Mere Exposure Effect
The fact that simply being exposed to words or images can make us feel more comfortable with them.
False Consensus Effect
The tendency to overestimate the degree to which other people share our opinions, attitudes, and preferences.
Dunning-Kruger Effect
The less skilled or competent a person is, the more likely they are to be confident in their judgements and views on a topic.
Availability error
Giving more consideration to evidence simply because it is more psychologically available.
