What is the Code of Ethics?
- Set out the ethical standards that all CFA Institute members and CFA candidates (who take the exams) must follow.
- It is the underlying philosophy of the Standards of Professional Conduct
- There are six elements in the code of ethics
The Standards of Professional Conduct promote fair and ethical behaviour and are organised into seven broad categories. What are these?
- Professionalism
- Integrity of capital markets
- Duties to clients
- Duties to employers
- Investment analysis, recommendations and actions
- Conflict of interest
- Responsibilities as a CFA Institute member or a CFA candidate
