What are two schools of thought regarding unethical behaviour?
A
- Result of the environmental situation a person is in, so a good person in a bad environment can still behave unethically
- Result of attitude or personality of an individual and the environment is less important.
Evidence suggests environment IS an important factor

Briefly explain the concept of corporate ethics
A
- Critical in determining the behaviour of employees.
- Good corporate ethics is enhanced by good corporate governance.
- Includes things like strong in internal procedures and fair remuneration packages
- Encouraging employees to take some degree of personal responsibility for their actions.

At a personal level, what are some motivations for unethical behaviour?
A
- Under pressure or incentives to perform. Greater risk-taking for short term rewards.
- Ability to blame others. (You should take responsibility for your actions)
- Ability to rationalise unethical behaviour.
- Lack of rigour e.g. Not conducting enough/ proper research.
- Disregard for clients.
- Failure to act. I.e. unethical by omission
