Entering main office area/classroom

A

Knock 2 times before entering. If no response, knock 2 more times and enter. Upon entering, the cadet will stop and announce who they are, announce any other cadets that they are with, and await further orders. (Exception: during house duties one cadet will knock 2 times. Once academy staff has acknowledged the knock, the cadet will enter, and announce “Sir/Ma’am cadets, followed by the names of the other cadets, are here to perform house duties.” Once given approval, the cadet will prop open the door and house duties will commence.

Response to field personnel/anyone who is not instructional staff or an approved guest instructor.

Sir/Ma’am, Cadet _______ Sir/Ma’am, I am respectfully advising you that I am unable to accept orders from, or communicate with, anyone other than Academy Staff. If you need assistance, please consult with one of my instructors.

Entering private office

A

Cadets will knock before entering any private office. If no response, they will return later.

Commander or higher enters the classroom or drill field

A

Cadets will be brought to attention. Cadets WILL NOT CALL the class to attention when not in the classroom or drill field for the rank of Commander or above. They will simply stop what they are doing and stand at attention until the Commanding officer passes or gives the order “Carry on.”

Buddy System

A

At no time will a cadet travel to any destination without a partner, unless someone from the Academy staff has given orders to disregard for the given situation.

Reporting statement

A

When addressing anyone use the reporting statement: “Sir, Cadet Jones, Sir” at all times.
