Describe the formation of a stump.

A
  • a crack is eroded further by hydraulic action
  • a cave is formed and eroded through to form an arch.
  • the top of the head is weathered and the arch further eroded by hydraulic action.
  • a stack forms and is weathered until a stump is formed or hydraulic action causes the stack to collapse to form a stump.
