What is the Curriculum Reform - Ebacc and SPAG?
More focus in spelling and grammar in subjects other than english. Also Ebacc made it so you could do a humanities and language,
Why was the Curriculum Reform introduced?

What is Tuition Fees?
Uni tuition fees went from £3250 to £9000 per year
Why was Tuition Fees introduced?
.Increase in marketisation
.Student loans weren’t payed until getting a job so it cut government spending.
What is the removal of EMA?
Removed EMA to introduce bursary to low income households.
Why was the removal of the EMA introduced?
.Improves equality
.Prevents students from dropping out
What is Pupil Premium?
Gives money to schools to give to the disadvantaged students. £900 per student if disadvantaged.
Why was Pupil Premium introduced?
Improves equality by supporting disadvantaged students.
What are Academies?
Schools that weren’t funded by the government.
Why were Academies introduced?
Increase standard of education as they had to be rated outstanding by ofsted.
What are Free Schools?
Schools opened in deprived areas that have more control over the curriculum. (Can be run by teachers, parents or the community)
Why were Free Schools introduced?
.Reduces inequality in deprived areas.
.Becomes a vehicle for social justice and reduce the gap between those who are disadvantaged.
