Q

What is the process of co-transport?

A

-3 sodium’s are transported out of the cell to the lumen and 2 potassium’s go into the cell from the blood.
-Creates a concentration gradient of Na.
-The sodium is actively transported (needs ATP) from the lumen to the cells.
-Then 2 sodium’s and transported by facilitated diffusion taking 1 glucose with them.
-Creates a concentration gradient for glucose.
-Then glucose can move into the bloodstream by facilitated diffusion.
