Possible effects of CNS stimulants?
- euphoria
- hyperactivity
- relaxed inhibitions
- impaired perception of time and distance
- grinding of teeth (bruxism)
- super strength and self confident
- anesthetic effect (cocaine only)
- easily confused
- difficulty concentrating
Cocaine time factors
- injected: within 15-30 seconds
- smoked: almost immediate, lasts 5-15 minutes
- snorting: almost immediate, lasts up to 15- 30 minutes
- orally: approx 1 hour, effects last 1-2 hours
Methamphetamine time factors
Smoked/ Injected: rush within seconds, effects 4-8 hours with residual lasting up to 12
Snorted/ orally: effects onset delayed, less intense, effects last longer
Overdose signs and symptoms
Hallucinations
Psychosis
Violent behaviour
(May try and treat with CNS depressants leading to an OD of CNS depressants)
