PT with club foot

A
  • If this condition is treated, PT will see the child with a brace, cast, or splint on
  • Work on muscles not immobilized to keep as much ROM and strength as possible
  • After brace, cast, or splint is taken off○ Work on ROM and strengthening of muscles that were immobilized along with keeping up with other muscles
  • If untreated (from birth to 2 years old with little or no treatment):
  • Work on gait as walking by the age of 20 years old will most likely be severely difficult
