What are the two types of means tests?

Answer 1

The ‘intial’ means test, and the ‘full’ means test

The initial means test: applicant’s gross household income, weighted to take account of family circumstances, such as the number of depdendants and essential living costs, such as mortgage or rent = adjusted income

Full means test: applicant’s gross household income, with allowable outgoings and a weighted living allowance combined = their disposable income
