What is a hybrid cloud
Combination of public and private cloud
Advantages of hybrid clouds
1) store sensitive data on private cloud
2) can expand public cloud without hardware costs
What type of cloud is used when one part of a database is available to a group of people but not available to another
Hybrid. As part is accessible by the company and other is accessible by the public
Distributed storage?
Data is stored in more than one location but can still be accessed from any of those locations
Advantage of distributed storage
Data can be retrieved from the nearest data source based on the users location which improves performance
Why is it important to have a good back up strategy
To restore data is hardware fails or data is lost
What is a full back up
Usually writing copies of all files to magmatic tape overnight when company is not in use
2 problems with daily full back up
1) growing data takes longer to back up
What is incremental/ differential back up
Only backing up changes since the last back up
Incremental > full back up
1) faster
2) less storage
3) slower to restore
What is a mirror disk
Writing the same data on different disks in case of damage
What is a good back up strategy
1) daily differential back ups and mirror disks
