A
- Small groups of about 5 to 7 adolescents
- Early adolescents cliques are same sex
- Late adolescents cliques are mixed sex
- It can be identified by their interest and status such as being in a band
- Parenting types may influence the type of cliques/crowd adolescents join

Conducted a qualitative study with the focus groups of recently graduated adults ages 19 - 22. They were asked to describe peer crowds from high school
Found:
- Identified 12 peer crowds: Populars. Jocks, Floaters
Good acts. Fine art kids, Brains, Normal, Druggies, Stoners,Emo, goths, Anime manga, Loners
- There was a rise in academic anxiety compared to earlier studies
- There was a fear of “loners”, meaning they were worried that they were potential perpetrators of violence
