Gram morphology of Pseudomonas aeruginosa?
G- rods
Pseudomonas aeruginosa growth on blood agar?
Metallic sheen, colony has serrated edges
Pseudomonas aeruginosa growth on MacConkey?
Green
Gram morphology of Klebseilla?
G- rods
Klebseilla growth morphology on MacConkey?
Pink colonies = lactose fermenter
What is Brilliant UTI agar used for?
When G- rods are found in urine, plate on Brilliant UTI which is chromogen agar to differentiate between Klebseilla (bright blue), E. coli (pink), enterococcus (turquoise)
