VOR?

A

• when turning, fluid moves in semicircular canals which feeds into extrinsic eye muscles to turn
the eye in opposite direction to maintain gaze

  • sudden reduction of right inner ear function = nystagmus to the left (quick to left, slow to right)
  • eventually cerebellum modifies inputs to compensate
