What is feedback?
A
It is formative rather than judgemental
Provides information about the desired behaviour, the actual observed behaviour and any gap that may exist between the two

What is the importance of feedback?
A
Allows you to stay on course in reaching learning goals and gaining expertise in patient care

What can occur in the absence of feedback?
A
Good performance is not reinforced Mistakes go uncorrected Feelings of uncertainty are amplified Self evaluation is not validated Clinical competence is achieved through experience or not at all
