It’s not the vent that causes negative thoughts but they way they interpret it
Spending to much time thinking irrational becomes an unbreakable habit that leads to depression

Criticism
Reductionist. It fails to take in biological factors such as the role of neurotransmitters in depression
Difficult to establish cause and effect. ABC model suggest that people make irrational conclusions on events but it is unclear whether these irrational thoughts cause depression or occur as a result of depression
