Neisseria gonorrhoeae

A

Gram negative. Obligate human pathogen. Diplococci. Oxidase +. Only glucose oxidizer. Virulance factors: specialized pili (allows attachment to mucosal surfaces, prevents phagocytosis), endotoxin (duh! Gram –), IgA protease, capsule.
