Clinical Anatomy of the Lower Limb Flashcards
What are the boarders of the femoral triangle?
- Superior - inguinal ligament.
- Lateral boarder - medial boarder of sartorius.
- Medial boarder - medial boarder of adductor longus.
- Base - Pectineus, illiopsoas and adductor longus.
- Roof - fascia lata
What are the contents of the femoral triangle?
Femoral nerve, artery, vein and femoral canal which contains the deep lymph nodes.
What are the boarders of the femoral canal?
- Medial boarder = lacunar ligament.
- Lateral boarder = femoral vein.
- Anterior boarder = inguinal ligament.
Posterior boarder = pectineus
What are the three boarders for the adductor canal?
- Anteromedial - sartorius.
- Lateral - vastus medialis
- Posterior - Adductor longus and adductor magnus
What are the contents of the adductor canal?
Femoral artery, femoral vein, nerve to vastus medialis and saphenous nerve
What are the boarders for the popliteal fossa?
Superomedial - semimembranous.
Superolateral - biceps femoris.
Inferomedial - medial head of gastrocnemius
Inferolateral - lateral head of gastrocnemius and plantaris
What are the contents of the popliteal fossa?
Popliteal artery, popliteal vein, tibial nerve and common fibular nerve
