An attorney may settle disputes with clients with agrements, but what must they do
Must advise the person to seek outside counsel and give them time to do so
When can a lawyer reveal confidential information?
When they reasonably believe it is necessary to prevent reasonably certain death or substantial bodily harm
when may an attorney for an organization reveal confidential info
when they attempt to report to the higest authority in the org and they do not recitify, they may reveal info to appropiate person to prevent substantial injury to the org
Government lawyers and conflicts
A gov’t lawyer who receives confidential gov’t info about a person must not later rep a person whose interests are adverse, if the info could be used to their material disadvantage.
gov’t lawyer but the information is public knowledge
it isn’t confidential info so they can rep the person.
