Qing Wei San is main clear fire and cool blood by cooperating with small dosage of Sheng Ma as guiding herb for the Yangming meridian. So it it suitable to symptom of toothache and gingival atrophy due to ST fire.

Yu Nu Jian is applied to pyogenic gingivitis and gingival bleeding due to deficient Yin and excess fire. Emphasis is laid on both clearing heat and nourishing yin, Niu Xi is guiding heat downward.
