Conservation of product, water and power during preparation, provision of services and cleaning procedures.
What is cross-infection and secondary infection caused by?
The spread of contagious micro-organisms. These may spread from person to person or by contact with contaminated surfaces or equipment.
What are some ways to prevent transmission of disease?
- PPE: single use gloves and apron
- Sanitising: washing hands in anti-bacterial hand wash
- Cleaning: remove dirt, oil, grease or grime
- Disinfecting: kills or retard growth of bacteria on hard surfaces and implements
- Sterilising: removing all bacteria
- Laundering: washing reusable linen after each client
What could the re-use of wax lead to?
The transmission of diseases such as HIV/AIDS or hepatitis.
What happens if chemicals are washed down the sink?
Make their way into our waterways. Unused products should be wiped out of the bowel using paper towel and placed into a garbage bin.
When should wax pots be restocked?
Wax pots are usually refilled at the end of each day.
