Noun clause
The dependent clause answer the question What arised by the independent clause.
Answer starts with what, whatever, that, who, which, how.
Important thing is that the independent clause always arise the question “what”.
Another trick to identify noun clause is that the noun clause can easily be replaced by a pronoun.
Adjective clause/Relative clause
It gives extra information about the noun in the independent clause.
Those students, who focused in their studies sincerely, passed the exam.
He is my brother, whom you had rejected in the interview last year.
He loves Lahore, where he was born and spent his entire childhood.
Adverb clause
Act as an adverb in the sentence.
How, where, when, why, conditional, concession.
I completed my work in time because I wanted to impress my boss.
Since you didn’t adhere to the rules of company, you’re to blame.
I reached where no one could even dare to go.
If you don’t work hard, you’ll not succeed. (Conditional)
Although she worked hard, she couldn’t pass the test. (Concession)
You should remain where you are right now.
Coordinate clause
Two or more independent clauses in a sentence, often joined by coordinate conjunctions that make separate statements that each have equal importance.
She is traveling by train, but she prefers to travel by car.
