  • binomial naming system:
  • all names are written in italics
  • The first part of the name is the “Genus” and is written in capitals letters ( only the 1st letter is capital)
  • the second part of the name is “species” and is written in lowercase
  • The binomial naming system is good because it helps to avoid the confusion of using common names
