Genealogy
A record of descent from ones ancestors; the study of family records.
Genre
A type, class, or category, especially of one art or literature.
Genteel
Well-mannered; refined; polite. (Sometimes used to mean “falsely polite” or “having affected good manners.”)
Gentile
Anyone not of the Jewish faith.
Gentry
Aristocratic or well-bred people.
Heterogeneous
Having parts that are unrelated or completely different.
Homogeneous
Of the same kind or sort.
Congenital
Exiting at birth but not hereditary.
Engender
To give rise to; to bring into existence.
Genesis
A beginning or origin.
Indigenous
Occurring in or characterizing an are; native.
Ingenious
Cleverly inventive and resourceful.
Progenitor
A direct ancestor; an originator of a line of descent.
Progeny
Children or descendants; offspring. (Sometimes progeny also refers to the results of artistic creativity. For example, Charles Dickens said that of all his progeny - meaning his novels - he loved David Copperfield best.)
