Diffuse ST elevations and PR depression

Electrical alternans - alternating QRS directions beat to beat
Due to pendular swinging of heart within pericardial sac
EKG in Hyperkalemia
Peaked T waves
Loss of p waves
QRS widening
PR prolongation
HIT type 1 v type 2
1 - heparin directly causes platelet aggregation w/in 48 hrs - NO TX
2- heparin causes antibody-mediated injury to platelets in 3-12 days –> D/C heparin immediately
Auer Rods
Seen in AML (especially APL - all trans retinoid acid)
Represent granules and eosinophilic rods
T2 signal in frontotemporal region
HSV encephalitis
Chancroid v. Lymphogranuloma venerum
Chancroid: painful purulent ulcer w/ shaggy borders and painful lymph nodes at SAME TIME
LV: non-painful papules, vesicles and ulcers w/ painful lymph nodes WEEKS later
Rocky Mt Spotted Fever
Rash starting on hands and feet
Fevers, chills, malaise, myalgias, photophobia, N&V, headache
Inc LFTs and thrombocytopenia
Interstitial pneumonitis
Still’s Disease
Daily spiking fever
Salmon rash
Arthritis
Inc WBC / inc ferritin
