Class II Div 2 Flashcards
1
Q
Class II Div 2 - definition
A
- lower incisal edge posterior occlusion to upper cingulum
- RETROCLINED upper incisors (OJ can still be increased)
2
Q
Class II Div 2 - aetiology
A
- skeletal
- soft tissues (decreased FMPA - lower lip retroclines upper incisors)
- pathology
- dental (reduced arch length - crowding)
3
Q
Class II Div 2 - signs
A
- typically reduced FMPA
4
Q
Class II Div 2 - soft tissue aetiology
A
- linked with reduced FMPA and lower LAFH
- lower lip acts on upper incisors as is positioned higher in these cases (retroclines them as they are shorter)
- can procline laterals as they get trapped on the lower lip
- high smile line
- marked labiomental fold (lip and chin)
- high masseteric forces (hard ortho space closure)
