A
  1. skeletal
  2. soft tissues (decreased FMPA - lower lip retroclines upper incisors)
  3. pathology
  4. dental (reduced arch length - crowding)

Class II Div 2 - soft tissue aetiology

A
  • linked with reduced FMPA and lower LAFH
  • lower lip acts on upper incisors as is positioned higher in these cases (retroclines them as they are shorter)
  • can procline laterals as they get trapped on the lower lip
  • high smile line
  • marked labiomental fold (lip and chin)
  • high masseteric forces (hard ortho space closure)
