Members shall not conduct themselves in a manner or be a party to an act which would tend to impair the good order, proper discipline, or efficiency of the dept.
CLASS A
Members shall not publicly criticize or ridicule the dept., its policies, or other members by verbal, written, or other manner of expression when such action tends impair the good order or efficiency of the dept; interferes with the ability of officers to maintain discipline; or is made with reckless disregard for the truth or falsity.

On duty members shall not smoke on streets, public conveyances, apparatuses, in public places, or at incidents. Reasonable exceptions may be made by the officer in charge when no emergency exists.

Members shall not use obscene, uncivil, or profane language at incidents, in quarters, or while engaged in activities in which the dept. is represented.

Members shall be courteous and respectful to the public.

Members assigned a dept. vehicle shall operate the vehicle within the provisions of the traffic code and safety regulations. Violation of traffic laws or reports of unsafe operation of the vehicle may result in disciplinary actions and/or loss of use of the vehicle.

Members shall devote their full time, attention, and effort to the performance of their duties. Inefficiency or indifference shall be cause for disciplinary action.

Members shall report for duty at the time and place specified. If unable to do so, they shall promptly notify and obtain approval from their superior officer as specified by dept. procedures. Unexcused or excessive tardiness shall be cause for disciplinary action.

Members shall immediately notify their immediate superior officer of any accident, sickness, or injury occurring to themselves while on duty, no matter how trivial.
