2) Legal responsibilities
3) Ethical responsibilities
4) Discretionary responsibilities
What is the difference between ethical responsabilities and Discretionary responsabilities?
For Carroll, what differentiates these discretionary responsibilities from ethical ones is the fact that the former aren’t expected by society with the same level of moral force as the latter. It won’t necessarily be characterized as “immoral” or “unethical.”
Examples of this level of responsibility can be seen in the redistribution of a portion of profits towards charitable causes, in the financing of community programs, or through employee volunteering in various social work or community organizations
