What did the Fugitive Slave Act require people to do?
It required people in free states to return runaway slaves to the south where it originated.
What was decided with the Kansas-Nebraska Act? Why was this upsetting to some people?
People would vote on whether slavery should be allowed. They were upset because these states should have been free under the Missouri Compromise.
What happened during Bleeding Kansas?
People of pro and anti slavery groups fought.
What impact did the Dred Scott Decision have on the US?
Slavery is technically allowed everywhere, upsetting many people.
How did the Lincoln-Douglas debates help Abraham Lincoln gain popularity?
Lincoln was against slavery although claiming that he is “not an abolitionist”
Why were people frightened by John Brown’s Raid?
They were worried that the North’s life would dominate.
Why was Abraham Lincoln able to win the election of 1860?
All votes that were not for him were spitted between other candidates. Therefore, Lincoln had most of the votes for him, while not the majority of them.
