Martin Luther King was a clergyman. He became a co-pastor and worked with his father at Ebenezer Baptist Church.

Speeches: media attention. They inspired people to join the cause.
Protests, marches: people saw these and joined in. It waa shown in newspapers, on television and radio (media attention).

What organization was Rosa Parks in?
The NAACP( National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People)
Why did Rosa Parks have to give up her seat?
There was no space for a white man to sit in the white section so she had to move to make space for him.

- She and her husband were members of the NAACP.
- She thought is was unfair.
- She had already had a bad encounter with the bus driver.
