Civil process
The handling and serving of a court document
Writ
A courts written order, in the name of a state or other components legal authority, to ask the addressee to do or refrain from doing a specific act
Summons and complaint
- The summons requires the defendant to appear and answer
- The complainant is the initial pleading that starts the civil action
Subpoena
Under penalty
-Writ commanding a person to appear before a court
Notice of hearing
A notice to advise the party of a hearing
Restraining order
An order in the nature of an injunction, it may temporary until the hearing to determine if it is permanent
Claim and delivery
-A claim for recovery of specific personal property wrongfully taken, as for any damages caused to the items
Eviction
Dispossession by process of law
