What is a Colle’s Frarcture of the wrist?
Fracture of distal radius in forearm with dorsal (posterior) and radial displacement of the wrist and hand
Differentiate Monteggia from Galeazzi fractures.
- Monteggia: fracture of prox. ulna and dislocation of radial head
- Galeazzi: fracture of the distal radius and dislocation of the ulna
How to perform the Yergason’s Test and what does (+)-test indicate?
- Pt’s arm at side and elbow flexed at 90°. Doc monitors bicipital groove and grasps pt’s wrist.
- Have pt supinate and ER against resistance
- (+)-test = unstable bicipital tendon/subluxation bicipital tendonitis
What does a (+)-test of Neer Impingement indicate?
Subacromial bursa or rotator cuff impingement
What is the Apprehension Test for GH instability?
- Pt seated or supine w/ shoulder abducted to 90° and elbow flexed to 90°
- Stabilize shoulder with 1 hand (blocking linkage) and force arm into ER with othr hand
