Diffusion in the circulatory system
- In the lungs, capillaries absorb oxygen from inhaled air into the bloodstream and release carbon dioxide for exhalation.
- in a process called diffusion, oxygen moves from the alveoli to the blood through the capillaries (tiny blood vessels) lining the alveolar walls.

(the left side of the heart) carries oxygenated blood from the heart to the rest of the body
Once the oxygenated blood enters the body, how does gas exchange occur in body cells?
the oxygenated blood inters the artery, travels through the arteriol, enters the capillary, exits it from the venule, which leads it to the vein, deoxygenated blood now leaves and goes to the heart
