Circulatory System Anatomy Flashcards
Describe pulmonary circulation
• Low pressure system -
• takes deoxygenated blood from right side of heart to the lungs
•takes oxygenated blood from lungs to the left side of the heart
Describe systemic circulation
•High pressure system
Takes oxygenated blood from the left side of the heart to the tissues
Returns deoxygenated blood from the tissues to the right side of the heart

Describe the vessel organisation of the systemic circulation in the head and neck
Brachiocephalic trunk bifurcates into the right subclavian and the right common carotid.
The right common carotid travels up to the neck and bifurcate into the internal carotid (towards the back of the head) and the external carotid (towards the face).
The vertebral is down from the ear.
