This system involves the heart and pumping blood around the body.
What is the function?
- circulate blood
- transport water, oxygen and nutrients to cells
- transports waste
- helps maintain body temp
- white blood cells and antibodies help fight disease

What is the septum?
Muscular wall separating right and left sides of the heart into two pumps
What does a valve do?
Valves allow blood to flow in only one direction

Aorta
What does an artery do?
Arteries carry oxygen rich blood away from the heart to the rest of the body
Do arteries carry oxygenated blood or deoxygenated blood?
Oxygenated
What are the two most common pulses?
The two most common pulses are in the neck and wrist

Cartoid pulse
What is the name of the pulse in your wrist?
Radial pulse
What is a capillary?
Capillarie exchange nutrients and waste between the blood and the body cells

Capillary
What do platelets do?
They clot blood when a blood vessel has been damaged
