Circulatory System Flashcards
Pulmonary circulation
Carries deoxygenated blood away from the hear, to the lungs, and returns oxygenated blood back to the heart
Coronary Circulation
Transporting of blood through the heart
Heart Layers
Epicardium- outside skin like layer
Myocardium- middle
Endocardium- inside skin like layer
Veins
Toward heart, low pressure, thin walls, larger diameter
Arteries
Away from heart, high pressure, thick wall, smaller diameter
Capillaries
1 at a time, leaky
Cuspid valve
Between atrium and ventricle
Prevents back flow of blood
Semilunar valve
Between ventricle and arteries
Prevents back flow of blood
Blood pressure target and how it’s taken
110/70
Inflate it and watch it go down. The number on top is when it starts a ticking motion and the number on bottoms is when the ticking motion ends
How is a stethoscope used? What can you hear with it?
It put the ear pieces in your ear and press it up to someone’s body(near their hear, back, ect)
You will be able to hear their breathing and their heart beat
Describe the sounds of the heart beats.
Lub-Dub.
Valves closing and relaxing
Normal pulse for someone my age and how do you take it
60-100 per minute
You find the pulse below the jaw, in the wrist or somewhere else and count for 15 seconds. Multiply by 4.
Systemic circulation
Carries oxygenated blood from the hear to the body and then returns the deoxygenated blood back to the heart.
