Classes of Blood Vessels
- Arteries
- arterioles
- Capillaries
- Venules
- Viens
Circulation routes
- Pulmonary circulation
- Systemic circulation
Pulmonary Circulation
Carries oxygen-poorblood from right ventricle to the air sacs of the lungs (only artery after birth to carry oxygen-poor blood)
–Returns oxygen-richblood to left atrium (only vein after birth to carry oxygen-rich blood)
Systemic circulation
-Carries oxygen-richblood from the left ventricle to systemic capillaries throughout the body (except to air sacs of lungs)
–Returns oxygen-poorblood to right atrium
3 parts of aorta
-ascending aorta
-arch of aorta
-descending aorta
Arches Posteriorly
and to left laterally over the bifurcation of the pulmonary trunk
Desends into Posterior
Mediastinum on the left of the midline towards the diaphram at t 12
Unpaired Visceral Branches of abdominal aorta
Supply organs in the git
Divides into
