Circulatory Flashcards
Circulatory system
Transfer of chemical compounds into your bodies
What are the components of blood?
Plasma
Buffy coat
Erythrocytes
Leucocytes
Platelets
What’s the function of the components?
Plasma makes up 55% of our blood liquid part
Buffy coat contains leucocytes and platelets 1%
Erythrocytes 45% gas exchange
Leucocytes kills viruses and bacteria contains two types, lymphocytes, and phagocytes
Platelets included, clotting releases, tentacles stick fibrin
What is the function of blood?
The deliver sells or remove cells removed from cells
Haemoglobin
Protein bonded with oxygen
Phagocytes
Engulf bacteria
Lymphocytes
Contains antibodies
Internal fluid
Fluid around cells like plasma
What are the three different blood vessels and their functions and characteristics?
Arteries carries away blood from the heart. It has stick walls.
Capillaries gas exchange it’s thin
Vince carry blood towards the heart one way valves
What type of blood comes from the left atrium?
Oxygenated
What type of blood comes from the right atrium?
The oxygenated
What type of blood comes from the aorta?
Oxygenated
What type of blood comes from the vena cava?
De oxygenated
Explain systemic circuit
Lungs to heart oxygenated blood
Lungs-Pv-La-mitral-Lv-aorticv-aorta
Oxygenated blood pumped to body by left ventricle oxygen is given to cells. Carbon dioxide is given to capillaries and deoxygenated blood go back to the heart.
Explain pulmonary circulation
Heart to lungs De oxygenated
Ra-tricuspid-rv-pvalve-partery-lungs
Deoxygenated blood is pumped to lungs by right ventricle to pick up oxygen and release carbon dioxide oxygenated. Blood returns to heart to be pumped.
