Q

Describe and explain the properties of conductors and insulators

A

Electrical conductivity is the ability of electrons to move in a substance. Substances that allow electrons to move easily are called conductors. Conductors contain atoms in which electrons (-) can move freely. Substances in which it is difficult for electrons to move are insulators. Insulators contain atoms that hold on to their electrons tightly.

Q

Describe the differences between series and parallel circuits and identify the type of circuit from a diagram

A

Parallel Circuit - A circuit that has more than one path for electricity to flow through. If one of the paths has a break in it, the others will still work.
Series Circuit - A circuit with the components joined one after the other in a single continuous loop
