Circuits Flashcards
Where does the energy of a battery go out of?
Negative electrode
Where are a light bulb’s electrodes located at?
The side and bottom of the lightbulb
What does it mean if a circuit is open?
The conductors are not all connected so no electricity can travel to the battery.
What does it mean if a circuit is closed?
The conductors are all connected and the electricity can move from the negative electrode and to the positive electrode smoothly.
What is a series circuit?
If one lightbulb gets disconnected from the conductors, all the light bulbs go out.
What is a parallel circuit?
If one light bulb goes out, the rest of them stay lit.
If a new lightbulb is introduced to a series circuit, do all the lightbulbs get dimmer?
Yes
If a new lightbulb is introduced to a parallel circuit, do all the lightbulbs get dimmer?
No
Is a rubber band a conductor?
no
Is a wire a conductor?
