Circuit Flashcards
1
Q
What is a current?
A
- movement of + charge over a period of time
- flows from high potential to low potential ( from the charges being far apart to the charge coming close together)
2
Q
Which way does current flow?
A
- From a region of high potential to a region of low potential
3
Q
What are batteries?
A
- devices that allows to ease the unusual flow od electrons, by creating a potential between the charges that otherwise wouldn’t happen
-
Provides a emf : electron motive force is the force created by the battery to establish a potential that wouldn’t otherwise be there.
- make electron move from low potential to high potential ( going against the normal) flow.
4
Q
How does electron flow in terms of voltage?
A
- Electron flow from anodes to cathode and the voltage is the energy generated by the need to overcome that potential from the two ends of a system.
