What is an aerial shot?
A shot taken from an overhead position.
What is a close up?
Head and shoulders shot often used to show expressions of a character. Also can be a shot of an object.
What is an extreme close up?
A shot where part of a face or body of a character fills the whole frame. e.g, eyes
What is a medium shot?
The framing of the subject from waist up. This shows body language.
What is a two shot?
A shot of 2 characters in a frame.
What is a point of view shot?
Shows a view from the subjects prospective. Edited so that’s the audience know who’s point of view it is.
What is an over the shoulder shot?
Looking from begins a characters shoulder to q subject. Used during conversations.
What is a reaction shot?
A shot that shows the reaction of a character either to another character either to another character or within the sequence.
What is a shot reverse shot?
A shot that switches from behind a subject to another. 180• camera spin orientates the viewer. Creates an eye-line match.
