CHT'S 11-15 Flashcards
Where is the best region to Doppler the aortic isthmus?
distal to the lt subclavian artery and proximal to the site of connection of the arterial duct with the descending AO.
Abnormal Doppler waveforms across the aortic valve are seen in?
critical aortic stenosis and in coarctation of the aorta.
Abnormal Doppler waveforms across the pulmonary artery occur in?
pulmonary stenosis and in pulmonary regurgitation.
What do we suspects with a very narrow AO in the 3VT view?
Hypoplatic lt hrt syndrome
What do we suspect with a narrow PA in the 3VT view?
Pulmonary stenosis -TOF( with antegrade flow) & Pulmonary atresia (with retrograde flow)
In the 3VT view, if you only see 2 vessels, convex course of the AO (AO and SVC), what is that suspicious of?
Transposition of the great vessels
Another sign of TGA is when in the 3VT view you would see?
Parallel vessels
If you have a large great vessel in the 3VT view, what could be a diagnosis?
CAT (common arterial trunk)
What is reverse flow in the aortic isthmus representative of?
Severe IUGR, severe cadiac anomalies, with outflow tract obstruction as in hypoplastic lt heart syndrome and critical aortic stenosis.
What is the appearance of the Doppler waveform of the IVC?
Triphasic.
What are abnormal findings in the DV waveform representative of ?
Severe IUGR, and also in obstructive lesions of the rt heart.
Abnormal pulmonary vein Doppler waveforms are seen in fetuses with?
Hypoplastic lt hrt syndrome.
