chronic kidney disease Flashcards
1
Q
chronic allograft nephropathy immunological factors
A
poor HLA matching and presence of HLA alloantibodies
sub optimal immunosupression and or non compliance of patient
these both cause
acute rejection incidents
2
Q
chronic allograft nephropathy non immunological factors
A
delayed graft function caused by 1. older donor/ poor graft quality 2. cause of death injury , preservation injury , ischaemic injury
hypertension
hyperlipidaemia
toxic effects of immunosupressents ciclosporin and tacrolimus
3
Q
Important tests to perform prior to transplant
A
- HLA type of the recipient
- HLA type of the donor
- Screen patient for presence of preforms HLA antibodies (every 3 months when patient is on transplant list)
- Crossmatch patient and donor prior to transplant to ensure negative result i.e. no reactions.
