What is granulomatous inflammation?

A
  • Form of chronic inflammation
  • Macrophages activated, aggregate, surrounded by lymphocytes= Granuloma
  • May also contain giant cells
  • Occurs due to persistent agents or agents that elicit a cell mediated immune response
